Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent, work part-time, have a flexible work schedule or are currently studying, you have the same 24 hours in your day as everyone else. In our fast-paced, goal-orientated culture, this means that you’re probably trying to squeeze a lot into your days.  But what if you could take a moment to pause and come out the other side feeling more calm, alert and present?

Booking yourself into Jos’s slow Vinyasa Flow yoga class is the first step towards this.

Why Vinyasa Flow?
Vinyasa flow style of yoga is a dynamic practice that will challenge the body, while quieting the mind; moving through sequences of postures, synchronising the breath with movement in a continual flow. Hence the term ‘flow’. It will stretch and strengthen the muscles of your body, whilst the breath helps to activate the part of the nervous system associated with relaxation and rejuvenation.

Slowing down your flow gives you opportunity to be mindful of your breath and your movement;  allowing space to develop breath awareness, focus on quality of the postures and be more mindful and aware in the moment to fully observe your experience. You can think of slow flow as a moving meditation.

When you step into the studio with Jos (pronounced ‘Yos’), you’ll find yourself in a welcoming, friendly, non-judgmental environment. In her small, student-focused classes, Jos creates a space for her students where they can feel at ease, listen in, feel and move with the freedom to go to where their body is telling them at that moment in time.

The common misconception is that slow flow yoga is an easy class. However, slowing down can be more challenging than you might think, especially as we are so accustomed to functioning at a faster pace these days. Step onto the mat in Jos’s class and you will soon realise the benefits of slowing down your flow.

About Jos
Originally from Croatia, Jos started practicing yoga 12 years ago initially for its physical benefits. But it was after the birth of her second child nearly eight years ago, that she realised the mental and emotional benefits of yoga as well. Like many parents of small children, Jos often felt exhausted mentally and physically. Yoga gave her the space to relax, release tension and quieten her ever chattering mind.

Her love of yoga led Jos to embark on a year-long Vinyasa Flow teacher training with Yoga London where she qualified in 2014. Her continuing studies as an Apprentice with Yoga London, will lead towards her 500-hour advanced training certificate. Recently she has completed Pregnancy yoga teacher training with Nadia Narain at Triyoga, and Restorative yoga teacher training with Judith Hanson Lasater at Yoga Campus.

Jos teaches regular pregnancy yoga classes in Muswell Hill and Crouch End. She also offers private 1-2-1 yoga sessions and small groups sessions, tailored to meet individual goals and needs.
