We have often referred to Mums as athletes, and we are. From the moment of giving birth, our bodies experience huge strains which we casually laugh off at soft play while balancing a car seat on our hips. Why? Because our bodies are engineered to do this.

The pressure on mums to ‘bounce back’ and restore themselves to their pre-baby form is enormous. An unnecessary pressure that can leave us feeling like we fail if we are unable to hit our fitness goals within our children’s first milestones.

Now we know that with sleep deprivation, balancing work and home responsibilities, finding time for our family and friends, raising children, and finding me-time, an extreme exercise and nutrition programme can feel like the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Well, we have found a local trainer with the answer.

Jev of Jev’s RRFit has a unique perspective on recovery and restoring the body to strength, fitness and health.

The Holistic Core Restore® programme that Jev represents, resonates to her own unique experiences. It is approved by a women’s health physiotherapist who is also the programme’s clinical consultant.

So how does it work? Jev’s focus is to strengthen from the inside out, so no traditional sit-ups on this programme! With Jev’s 1-2-1 bespoke programmes, she aims to heal and then strengthen by focusing on the core, pelvic floor, and posture with light and gentle exercises specially designed for you and you alone. Jev will look at your nutrition first, then slowly move on to strength and fitness training as your recovery progresses. Jev’s main speciality is in healing Diastasis Recti (separated abdominal muscles).

What if a 1-2-1 program isn’t for you right now? Jev holds the Holistic Core Restore® programmes at Project:Me. The classes are suitable for postnatal women from 6 weeks onwards, for those with mild pelvic floor prolapse, small Diastasis and other postnatal related problems. Holistic Core Restore® programme is developed by experience and genuine admiration for women. The unique programme explains the trauma our bodies have undertaken and instead of focusing on the aesthetics and short-term rewards, the priority is on healing from deep within. Jev herself is very welcoming and her wealth of knowledge and extended research is reassuring.

  • – Pre-screen and check for Diastasis Recti (separated abdominal muscles) and breathing patterns
  • – Your own Holistic Core Restore® kit  (Different types of Bands/Ball/Massage ball)
  • – Access to an online portal for homework exercises which are progressed throughout the course, to be done 4 times a week at home
